Dr. Kavilaveettil
Dr. Kavilaveettil is certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and Board Certified in Clinical Neurophysiology (Epilepsy/ Neuromuscular Disease). She is also Board Certified in Electrodiagnostic Medicine by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM). She has certification in Headache Medicine. She focuses on Epilepsy and Seizure disorder treatments for adults and is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders like Myasthenia Gravis, CIDP, Multifocal Motor Neuropathy, Peripheral Neuropathy, and Carpal tunnel syndrome. Muscle disorders like myopathy and myositis are also diagnosed and treated. She has special interest in movement disorders and treats Parkinson’s Disease, Essential tremor, cervical dystonia, focal dystonia, spasticity, hemifacial spasm, and blepharospasm (uncontrolled eyelid movement). Migraine, cluster headache, and other headache syndromes are efficiently diagnosed and treated in our office.
Procedural skills: Botox, EMG/NCV, Peripheral Nerve Block, EEG, (Electroencephalogram). Her office has ability to adjust and manage VNS for Epilepsy and DBS for Parkinson’s disease and Essential Tremor.
Dr. Kavilaveettil is very skilled in Administering Botox for Migraine, Spasticity, cervical dystonia and Sialorrhea for Parkinson’s disease. She does various nerve block procedures.
She does EMG/NCV (Electromyography and Nerve conduction) studies for various Neuromuscular disorders. Unlike many other places in our office this procedure performed and interpreted by the Specialty Board Certified Neurologist. For Myasthenic syndromes she does RNS (Repetitive Nerve stimulation) and SFEMG (Single Fiber EMG).
Office has the ability to conduct all outpatient EEGs for diagnosis of Seizure disorders. She is currently triple-board-certified in neurology, neuromuscular medicine, and electrodiagnostic medicine.
